Join your hosts, Maria, Ulrik, and the charming Ramoncito , for a journey that starts and ends in the enchanting village of Andenes. Our commitment is not just to sail, but to create life-enriching experiences that blend wildlife encounters with with a deep dive into the heart of Norway's cultural tapestry.

TRIP OVERVIEW

 

Our week-long expedition (8 days & 7 nights) is thoughtfully scheduled to complement inbound and outbound flights from Oslo, ensuring convenience for guests arriving on Sunday or Thursday evenings. Just a stone's throw from Andenes Airport, served by Norwegian Airlines, our cozy floating hotel, Jolly, awaits you at the harbor.

As we set sail from Andenes, get ready for an experience that combines the thrill of exploration, the tranquility of the sea, Traditional norwegian flavours, wildlife and everything in between.

This itinerary promises a blend of serenity, adventure, and cultural enrichment, set against the backdrop of Norway's breathtaking landscapes. Please keep in mind that changes may occur and the day by day program should be taken as a guideline.

ITINERARY

We have an awesome itinerary and equally awesome alternatives in case we need to make some changes in case of bad weather. We’re all about adapting to the day’s conditions and catching the best experiences as they come.

Day 1 : Andenes - Starting Point of your Adventure

Arrival: Around 21 hrs - According to the flights.

Your adventure starts with a warm welcome aboard.

The first evening is dedicated to fostering connections among fellow travellers during a meet-and-greet session, accompanied by a delightful meal.

This introduction is not just about pleasantries; it's an essential part of the journey, where you'll delve into safety details and get a taste of sailing with some dockside sail training.

This preparatory evening ensures that you're set for a smooth sailing experience the following morning.

Day 2: Sailing to Bleik via Whale Watching at Bleiksdypet

The waters of Bleiksdypet are a paradise for whale watchers. Here, the majestic sperm whales, known for their impressive diving abilities and distinctive clicking sounds, grace these waters.

The area is also home to other marine life and incredible birdlife, including one of Norway's largest puffin colonies on Bleiksøya island, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts.

Day 3: Sailing to Stø via Bleik Island - Stø, A Traditional Fishing Village

Distance: 25 Nautical miles - 5 to 8 hours of sailing

For wildlife enthusiasts, Bleik Island is a treasure trove. Bleiksøya Island is famed as one of Norway's largest puffin resorts, offering spectacular opportunities for bird watching.

For those interested in historical sites, Langenes Church, built in the 1700s during Norway's Baroque period, is located nearby.

Stø's culinary scene is equally enticing, with local eateries serving specialties. There are plenty of hiking possibilities for all level.

Day 4: Nyksund - Revival of a Ghost Town - Hiking Day

12-15 km hike, duration 5-8 hours - Sailing 1,5 hours

Big hiking day: A famous hiking trail is the Dronningruta (The Queen's Route), named after Queen Sonja of Norway. This 15 km trail offers breathtaking views as it winds its way along the coastline and over mountaintops. It's a journey that combines natural beauty with a sense of adventure. and it is the old walking path between Stø and Nyksund. There are plenty of other hikes around depending of the level of fitness of the participants

Day 5: Sailing to Fiskeværet Skipnes - Kayaking and Historical Exploration

Sailing time: 3 to 4 hours

Fiskeværet Skipnes, enveloped by the stunning natural beauty of Norway's Vesterålen islands, provides a serene and unique experience.

Skipnes also offer a variety of activities that connect you with nature and the rich coastal history of the area. Whether hiring kayaks or joining excursions to nearby "Tinden," these activities are perfect for exploring the local marine life and the picturesque natural landscapes that envelop the village.

Day 6: Sailing to Tinden - Experiencing Norway's True Essence

Sailing time : 1 hour

Tinden, an emblematic outpost, captures the essence of Norway's history and natural beauty.

Tinden Handelssted, a historic and cultural gem in the Vesterålen archipelago, boasts a history dating back to the younger Stone Age, around 2500 years BC. It has transformed from a medieval fishing village into a later trading center. Meticulously rehabilitated from 2005 to 2020, following antiquarian principles, a visit to Tinden is not just a stay, but an immersive cultural journey.

Day 7: Sailing Back to Andenes

Big sailing day- 8- 10 hours at sea

After a relaxed breakfast, we crew up and prepare for a full day's sail back to Andenes.

Along the way, we will revisit all the marvellous places we explored while we were sailing south.

And if we didn't spot any whales on the first sailing day, today offers a second chance for this inspiring experience. You can also enjoy some cuddling time and a perfect nap together with Ramoncito :)

Upon arrival in Andenes, we will enjoy our last dinner together and have a rest after the dong day at sea

Day 8: Farewell and Exploring Andenes

After breakfast, everyone can choose from several activities available in this charming village. The checkout will be around 13 hrs. You will have the entire day to explore , as the flight departs after 21:00 hrs.

Here are some ideas: Visit the Andenes Lighthouse for stunning views, engage in Space Education at Andøya Space Center, enjoy Hiking in the Rugged Landscape, explore the Polar Museum to learn about the region's history and polar expeditions, relax on Bleik Beach, and more.

  • The guests are assigned to one of three cabins on Jolly, ideally sharing with their travel companions or with another guest of the same gender. See pictures of Jolly HERE
