DAY 1: Meeting and greeting in Sortland

Check in: 15 hrs

We meet and greet in Sortland and go through the safety protocols before we set sails for our two hour shakedown sail to Kvitnes Gård.

Kvitnes gård is an old farm from 1855 that now probably provides one of the finest dining experiences in Northern Norway.

With full bellies, we set our course towards Raftsundet where we will wait until the tide is correct so we can jet boost jolly through the narrow strait of the lofoten Islands. After we have raced through riding the currents, we head into trollfjorden where we will throw out the anchor for the night.

A charming dog sits at the helm of a sailboat in Trollfjord, Lofoten, awaiting adventure, with the website jollygoodtimesailing.com prominently displayed on the boat's side. This idyllic scene captures the essence of a summer sailing trip

Day 2: trollfjorden

Trollfjorden is a mystical place full of myths and farytales. Lucky for us, the midnight sun is still up and keeps the trolls away.

So safely we can enter the kingdom of trolls and do our first hike of the trip. We hike up to trollfjordhytta, soak in the unique landscape and perhaps jump into the wood fired mountain wilderness sauna. Coming down and perhaps a bit weary from your first endeavour, we salute the fjord with a fresh cold bath in the sea before we head out to sea and towards the wonderful roadless ocean village of Risvær.

Day 3 : Risvær - Summer paradise

Risvær is a proper summer paradise framed in history.

Risvær has been an important tradestarion for the lofoten fishery and trade here was established in 1784 by Christopher Berhoft.

Risvær archipelago consists of a numerous of small islands and the marine wildlife scenery is breathtakingly good. Risvær is a real treat.

Aerial view of the picturesque fishing village of Henningsvær in Lofoten, Norway, showing the football field. The village is set against a dramatic backdrop of sharp mountain peaks, with crystal-clear waters surrounding the islands

Day 4 : Henningsvær - A must when in Lofoten

Wake and bake, early morning breakfast awaits before our 20nm Vestfjord sail towards the famous village of Henningsvær. It’s probably Lofoten’s most famous village and for a good reason that we will discover together. Henningsvær is one of those villages that makes you want to visit Norway by boat. Henningsvær has for a generations been an important sentrum for the Lofoten fishery and has a very rich cultural scene.

Day 5 : To Nusfjord and CATCHING THE DINNER

Our next destination is the charming village of Nusfjord, but first let's try our luck at fishing outside Henningsvær.

This is the place where the fish likes to swim and it has been the hot spot for Norwegian fishery for centuries.

After we have caught what we need, we set our course towards Nusfjord which is one of our country’s postcard landmarks.

Breathtaking panorama of Reine in Lofoten, Norway, with Jolly Good Times Sailing on a summer adventure. The iconic orange-roofed fisherman's cabins on stilts (rorbuer) line the waterfront, set against towering mountains and crystal-clear waters

Day 6: Sailing to Reine TO HIKE AND EXPLORE

Reine is a village placed on several tiny islands thats connected by bridges and molos.

Also it is a perfect area for hiking, kayaking and outdoor activities. From Reine we can kayak, hike up to the renown Reinebringen, take the dinghy and head for the more accessible Bunesstranda, the options are many and it is only our imagination that sets the limits here.

We should definitely not miss our on Anitas Seafood – their smoked cod is a culinary delight.

Aerial view of the majestic Værøy Island in Lofoten, Norway, a prime destination for www.jollygoodtimesailing.com's summer sailing trips. The island's lush greenery gracefully slopes into the vivid turquoise waters of the Norwegian Sea.

Day 7 : Værøy and a Panoramic hike

Our journey continues with a 20-mile sail to Værøy, which typically takes between 4 to 5 hours, depending on the currents, weather and timing.

We can start very early so we have time to hike up to the mountain the same day to soak in the majestic view from Håen which probably is one of Norways finest view points.
