yoga retreat itinerary
yoga and meditation in the world heritage
Geirangerfjord is the world known jewel of the Norwegian fjords and for a good reason.
If you are able to find a retreat with the same level of spectacularity, we would like to know abut it.
The fjord is in the UNESCO world heritage list for it’s very own reason. The breath taking landscape with snow-covered mountain tops, waterfalls pouring down thousands of litres minute by minute, old mountain farms located in places you never imagined possible.
In this world class surroundings you will be enjoying yoga and meditation in the nature of the world of wonders. Jump on board and let's explore the jewel in the crown together.
We have put an extra focus on places and experiences that are outside the normal daily life. The Geiranger experience will give you many new impressions and you will look at this
fjord kingdom from a complete new perspective.
We sail around the entire fjord with the sun and there is around 20 hrs of light
during the summer months in this area so bring your shades.
Every day there will be opportunities to be directly in nature even if you decide to stay on the boat.
The most important thing for us is to create a relaxed, calm environment to give the opportunity to disconnect from a stressful daily life and to experience a fulfilling different day to day which is relaxing and super fun at the same time.
The Geirangerfjord is located in Stranda Municipality.
It is a 15-kilometre (9.3 mi) -long branch off the Sunnylvsfjorden,
which is a branch off the Storfjorden (Great Fjord).
TIP: Zoom out in the map and see the places we will be visiting
DAY BY DAY
We will meet up in Sjøholt marina and head towards Stordal
after a safety brief.
In Stordal we will be visiting an extraordinary beautiful old church named Rosekyrkja which was build back in 1789.
We will do our
inside this magnificent piece of history.
A hike in the surrounding mountains or a relaxed time in the water front is also possible to do the same evening.
There is two different hikes directly from the centre of the town and up to the surrounding mountains.
Snacks and dinner will be served on board.

FROM STORDAL TO HELLESYLT
We leave Stordal in the morning after a
and head towards Hellesylt.
This village lies at the head of the Sunnylvsfjorden, which is a branch of the Storfjorden, and also the more famous Geirangerfjorden.
This trip will take us approximately 4 hrs and we will have our lunch and snack on the way while you can relax on deck, read your book, fill your sd-card with breath taking pictures and prepare for the evenings activity.
In Hellesylt we have arranged kayak or down stream river rafting around the area.
There will also be time for exploring the surroundings your own way before rounding it off with a evening yoga session.

HELLESYLT - GEIRANGER
Two alternatives for the activities today:
Alternative 1: A hike up to Egilsbu and a dive in Lygnstøylsvatnet where we can see submerged old infrastructure in crystal clear water.
Alternative 2: A hike up to Mt Slogen. This is a hard full day hike and will be quite hard for some, but for those who are up for it, the outstanding outlook from the top is incomparable.
After our activities are done,
we will set the course towards Geiranger.
Snacks and dinner will be served on board
This day we will be the Le Grand Explore Geiranger day.
We start our day with
rise and shine practice
and after our breakfast we will go in the dinghy to the drop off to Knivsflå and later over the fjord to Skageflå.
We will hike up to Knivsflå and Skageflå where we eat our packed lunch and continue the hike over the mountain towards Homlong where you will be picked up with the dinghy again.
This will take approximately 6 hrs.
We gather back in the boat and get ready to walk to a beautiful hillside restaurant where we will have the second session of the day before we enjoy a delicious and authentic dinner in the most epic scenery the world has to offer.
A true Norwegian experience.
Let's take advantage of the endless hours of summer light to discover all Geiranger together.

How to get there?
Ålesund is the closest city from where the trip starts, and offers good connections throughout the country and Europe.
Karlvika where the trip starts is a 45minute buss ride away from Ålesund rutebilstasjon.
The easiest way is to take bus 100 or 681 and get off at Håhjemsvika.
When you get to off the bus you take to the right and walk 5 minutes towards Karlvika and Vika feriesenter where Jolly will be waiting.
Jolly is a 49-foot large steel cruiser.
This Dutch-built boat has a unique, strong and spacious design that makes her comfortable to sail and enjoy time on.
The boat is amply equipped and has spacious outdoor areas.
To read more about Jolly,
please check this link.
Due to limited space in Jolly, we would love you if you bring one piece of luggage in a foldable duffel bag. The west coast can have some rain, so bring your rain gear.
We strongly recommend you to bring a day pack to use for water, food, camera and layers on hikes and trips outside Jolly.
Quite boring to carry this in a regular plastic bag.
You need a travel and health insurance that covers your activities and transportation back to your country in case you need that.
Remember to bring your insurance card/information.
